The portrait

You don't need to become someone else in front of the camera.

The strongest headshots feel believable. They hold attention without looking forced and communicate something about you before a word is spoken. My approach is built around light, subtle direction and creating the space for that expression to appear naturally.

01 · Actors & Performers

Be recognisable. Be believable.

Contemporary actor headshots with expression, clarity and presence. Created for performers working across South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea and beyond.

How faces read on camera

Light changes more than appearance. It changes perception.

A fraction more shadow, a softer eye line or a small shift in expression can change how a face is interpreted. The work is not about imposing a look. It is about understanding what the camera is already seeing.

02 · Business & Executive

Professional doesn't have to mean corporate.

Business headshots should communicate credibility without losing the person behind the role. For executives, founders, professionals and teams who need images that feel confident, current and human.

Behind the camera

More than 25 years working with light, faces and cameras.

Alongside my photography, I work as a freelance BBC & ITV Lighting Director. Broadcast television taught me something fundamental: good lighting isn't there to announce itself. Its job is to help the person in front of the camera read naturally and clearly.

I bring that same understanding to every headshot session — shaping light for the individual rather than applying the same formula to every face.

The session

You don't need to know what to do in front of the camera. That's my job.

Sessions are guided without becoming over-directed. We'll work with small changes in posture, expression and light until the photograph feels right — not rehearsed.
